Burke is not a huge dessert guy, but he LOVES gelato! So when he asked for a pizza party for his birthday this year, gelato was the natural pairing (and also, his dessert request- lucky coincidence!).
Turns out, setting up a gelato bar was way (WAY!) easy. Like you-could-put-this-together-with-almost-no-notice-to-offset-the-crazy-heat-of-August easy.
We grabbed a whole lineup of Talenti gelato flavors (not a sponsor, we just love their gelato!)…
…set out some toppings (which are more fun than necessary since gelato seems to hold its own even without a bunch of toppings)…
…added fun ice cream bowls from the dollar bin at target (and wooden spoons from my stash)…
…hung up a big “gelato” poster and a paper ‘awning’ in my favorite apothecary cabinet…
…added a few honeycomb lanterns…
…set out gelato menu placemats outlining all the flavors….
…and our yummy (easy!) Gelato Bar was complete!
Since my weather lineup for this week includes a bunch of 100+ degree weather (whoa, August!), a lower-key version of this Gelato Bar is on the docket before school starts back up again for sure!
Love this! And your graphics! Such a fun idea.
Thanks Dayna. LOVE gelato. 😉
