Piper Jane is absolutely smitten with Paris and Madeline (the children’s books by Ludwig Bemelmans) and has been asking for a Madeline party since, well, since her Sprinkle Party last year!
And what a fun party to put together! After the Denver shower, and now this Paris party, I am fully in love with locale-based party themes (in fact, there’s a London party in the works for this fall).
What Parisian party would be complete without rows of macarons (I ordered these from Elle Merced Macarons on etsy)? Jars of ‘bonbons’ completed the sweet shoppe and were a huge hit with party guests. I put together a whole post with more pictures of this little Sweet Shoppe. Because rainbow of candy.
The décor several book based projects- book page garlands, globes dotted with mini Madelines, plus a plethora of Eiffel towers and Paris postcards. Stripes in red, yellow and blue rounded out the scheme.
Madelines iconic (and fabulous) collar made an appearance in the favor table backdrop, in the signage (I had so much fun putting this signage together) and in Piper’s Madeline dress.
Another Madeline icon- the classic yellow hat- adorned mini Eiffel towers and apothecary jars alike.
Y’all know my philosophy of party activities- simpler is better. I set up a ‘channel your inner Monet’ coloring station, a reading nook stocked with piles of Madeline books, and spray bottles (my favorite!) for guests to “help Madeline water the garden.” The guests had so much fun coloring, reading and spraying!
MADELINE PARTY SUPPLIES-
Madeline doll, Madeline cards (I used these as decor), lego Eiffel tower, complete Madeline treasury book, Madeline book, Madeline’s Rescue book, small Madeline hats (I glued blue ribbons onto these), vintage Paris postcards (again, decor), eiffel tower charms, striped favor bags (with cute “Mercy” labels- all the Madeline party printables are in the etsy shop), Eiffel tower decor, hot dog trays, striped favor cups, Madeline hat (for Pi).
