A few weeks after my brother and sister-in-law welcomed my newest niece, Miss Josie, into the world (and while my sister Jordan was still in town), we had a twinkle-y, star speckled “Love you to the moon and back,” baby shower for them.
Well, I guess it was technically a Sip ‘n See since Josie had already made her appearance.
It was a laid back night with yummy food and simple decor.
And my very favorite sugar cookies.
And a moon pinata stuffed with a whole collection of the teeniest baby leggies for Miss Josie (thanks Oh Happy Day! for the moon pinata idea and tutorial!).
So, really, a great time all around.
Dinner was a burrito bar- sweet pork and Pioneer Woman BBQ chicken with all sorts of toppings (somehow didn’t get a single picture…). We made a whole buffet of detox waters in mason jars to pair with the burrito-y goodness. As a sidenote, I loved those detox waters so much that I just keep making the lemon/cucumber/mint water (ever since this party, there is always some in my fridge- if you ever stop by my house, ask to try some).
While I didn’t take any pictures of our burritos, I have more than forty pictures of the desserts- star and moon sugar cookies and coconut chocolate mousse. I
probably definitely could’ve just eaten dessert that night and been a happy girl.
The shower decor was pretty, and simple (love that combo).
There was a spinny star garland…
…and vases of moons and shooting stars…
…and a “LOVE YOU TO THE MOON” garland.
We pulled out every ‘good night’ book from my kiddos collection and put the books on tables and behind the desserts…
…there were star and moon toppers in the mousse…
And the best part of the night? Josie’s doting fan club. That baby girl has no shortage of devoted followers, that’s for sure (Piper Jane, Burke and my dad were all vying for her attention, as always).
Welcome to the family, Little Missy! You haven’t been around long, but we love you to the moon and back already!
