DIY hanging golden snitches (harry potter party)

We started off the Harry Potter Birthday Month Fun with our Mini Honeydukes and are going to keep it going with these floating golden snitches.

The Harry Potter party guests thought these were the coolest. And then the figured out they were chocolates that could be plucked down to eat.

And then they REALLY thought these Ferrero Rocher golden snitches were the coolest. Haha.

We made them by printing snitch wings onto vellum, inserting a straight pin to the center tab of the wings, pressing the pin into a Ferrero Rocher chocolate, and knotting invisible thread (or fishing line) under the pin. Then we repeated times about thirty ‘golden snitches,’ and hung the invisible thread from our dining room chandelier at various heights.

A whole flock of hanging golden snitches- check.

Kirstin! Your Harry Potter party is the coolest! Ens is planning a HP party this year and we were searching around for ideas today and randomly came across a link to your party on another site. I should have known to check your site first! Your parties are always the best! Question – where did you get the pattern for the snitch wings? xoxo – Bree
Love this for Ens!!! I can’t quite remember but I think I googled “snitch wings” and then printed them onto vellum/see through paper????
