Today’s post is a total surprise, thanks to an unexpected snow storm that gave us a Snow Delay AND a surprise chance to make snow ice cream for breakfast (so ironic to be writing this from south texas and not colorado- haha!).
I can’t actually remember who gave us the tip that Half & Half takes snow ice cream to the next level. And the kids had lots of ideas about why it was “the BEST SNOW ICE CREAM EVER!” (never mind that it was the first time they’ve had snow ice cream, and also never mind that all of their theories involved sprinkles).
But, for real, this stuff is so yummy! It’s basically a public service for me to pass this along even if I can’t remember who gave us the Half & Half tip. Next time it snows (which, for here, will be in ten to fifteen years- haha!), MAKE THIS.
SNOW ICE CREAM RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
6-8 cups of snow (depending on snow dense-ness)
1/2 cup half & half
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 Tbsp mexican vanilla (or regular vanilla extract)
Pinch salt
Sprinkles
DIRECTIONS While your snow collectors gather snow, whisk together the rest of the ingredients in a big bowl and put in the freezer to chill. Fold in the snow, top with sprinkles and enjoy!
Best treat ever. Or best breakfast. There is no judgement in Snow Ice Cream.
