hippo baby shower

April 8, 2010

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Currently, I’m helping with a gift-cards-and-boy-clothes baby shower brunch based on the dwell studio hippo bedding (our guest of honor will be using it in their nursery).  On the docket so far:

-the cakies layered cupcakes (yellow cake with chocolate icing to coordinate with our palette)

-a yellow and green mod hippo garland (like the elephant one from prudent baby… though, I’m still debating between paper and fabric)

-spray painted wine bottle vases (idea by hillary at ruffled), though I think it’d be super fun to fill the vases with branches instead of flowers- what do you think?

-this tower ‘o doughnut holes (I saw the idea on the ruffled blog…. in a photo collage of  katy & colm’s wedding… brilliant, right?)
-quiche, mimosas, flavored lattes, cheeses with crackers and other ‘brunch’ foods

Any other ideas for me?  Specifically, I’d love to make some re-usable decor that could be used both for the shower and in the nursery- any thoughts?

I've never seen a hippo shower, but I think it totally rocks! I love spray painting my bottles different colors!

Oh my goodness! I love it!!! I love the idea of a hippo shower and I love the colors involved. I may have to keep that in mind if we have a boy, but I think my hubby would push for a monkey theme, but I could still use the same ideas. I love them!
