let’s hear it for orange

Ok friends, before I say what I’m about to say, you should know that I’m not a huge orange person. I mean, I love the blog How About Orange. And one of my favorite kojo invites is orange. But in the world of colors, orange just isn’t my favorite. I think it’s because I’m a ‘summer’ in skin tone and have been told in the past, “Never wear orange. Never. There is not a shade in the entire spectrum of oranges that looks good on you.” That little statement has seeped into my decorating philosophy as well, I believe.
That being said, I can’t tell you how much I love this wall covered in persimmon graphic stencil (from one of the Southern Living Idea Houses). It makes me want to go to Home Depot TODAY, purchase a can of orange paint and start stenciling. I think that if this were my bedroom, I would feel beach-y every day. And what matches that, really?
I’m off to do some searching for a fabulous orange-and-white duvet cover… and a gorgeous, wallpaper-y stencil (the one the Southern Living people used was custom made for that Idea House… figures, right). If you live in Denver and come by my house in the next couple weeks, it just might be in the process of a fabulous orange stencil makeover. All from the girl who isn’t really an orange person.
