baby’s first christmas ornament

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Hands down, the best part of decorating our tree each year is unwrapping the mishmash of ornaments we’ve collected from our travels, the ones from our trees growing up, and the gems we’ve received as gifts. I love the way ornaments have stories to go with them.
This year, I made Burke a “baby’s first christmas” felt tree ornament embroidered with his birth year and a letter b. The mini-ornaments on the felt Christmas tree (buttons, beads, etc.) are velcro-ed on. That way, as he developes more specific interests over the years, we can customize his ornament so that it is a more accurate reflection of him.

Happy decorating!
ps- The ornament is fairly simple to make… when the chaos of December dies down, I’ll try to put together a tutorial (too late for this year’s tree, but just right for Christmas 2009!). 🙂
