coziest fall gift basket

the coziest fall gift basket- perfect for a thanksgiving hostess gift
cozy gift basket ideas

Even though fall is not right now in New Zealand, we do celebrate Thanksgiving from across the ocean (and we are even hosting this year)!

And even though there isn’t really much ‘cozy factor’ about the beginning of summer in New Zealand, there is something about seeing November on the calendar that makes me want to gather all-the-warm-and-cozy-things.

I actually put this cozy gift basket together for a friend in our actual autumn (aka- months ago), but I thought it’d make a great Thanksgiving hostess gift as well.

Perhaps these cozy baskets are my favorite because they’re a compilation of so many of my favorite things? Fluffy socks, a cozy mug and fancy tea (you could also do yummy hot cocoa!), a pumpkin candle, fall baking goodies and dark chocolate- it’s like a recipe for sitting by a fire with a good book.

As I’m looking at this, every cozy basket probably also needs a fuzzy blanket and a good read tucked in there as well. Perhaps you can remedy my oversights if you put one together? Stay warm, friends!

free printable thanksgiving leftover labels

free printable thanksgiving leftover labels

Even though I can’t quite believe Thanksgiving is almost upon us (the tropical paradise weather isn’t helping me recalibrate), it is! And I love Thanksgiving! And I really love leftovers! Hence the need for some new Thanksgiving leftover labels. Truth be told, our Thanksgiving this year is going to be kind of funny- we’re spending […]

how to put together a warm beverage station

DIY warm beverage station (coffee, cocoa, tea, etc.)

Now I know I’ve already mentioned that you need to add a Pie Bar to your lineup for Thanksgiving greatness. And I know this is another thing. And it’s Thanksgiving (not exactly the lowest maintenance holiday in the world). But guys. You NEED this. And you can put it together in advance, with zero work […]

what you need at your thanksgiving spread

what you need at your thanksgiving spread- tons of PIE (post includes free pie poster downloads until Thanksgiving!)

My internal season gauge is all messed up (going from endless summer back to normal fall and then plunging back into summer again will do that to you). I looked at a calendar this weekend and seeing “Thanksgiving” coming in two weeks was quite the shock. Thanksgiving? Already? How are we here already? Which brings […]

caramel apple cider recipe

caramel apple cider recipe

This first far-far-away-from-home holiday season has been, well, a little hard to describe, actually. It’s been homesick, and quiet, and far, and tropical (which is both amazing for this summer-loving mama and also more than a bit weird since we’re used to a Rocky Mountain fall), and a little more homesick. In fact, usually Thanksgiving […]

holiday party favors- pie boxes (with free printable files)

printable thanksgiving pie boxes (thanksgiving favors!)

Yum. There are lots of things to love about the holiday season, but a whole buffet of treats, and especially PIE, ranks at the top of my list (also, leftovers, but you already knew that). Trailing closely behind my love of treats and pie is my love of packaging, making single serve pie slice boxes […]

simple DIY thankful banner

simple thankful banner

If you are hosting Thanksgiving and want to add a simple ‘give thanks’ garland to your decor, you’ve come to the right place. We made this banner by cutting out felt flags, cutting out felt letters (we just eyeballed them), stringing the letters together and hanging a row of yarn tassels above the garland. See? […]

mimi’s sweet potato casserole recipe

mimi's sweet potato casserole

I love hearing about people’s favorite Thanksgiving dishes- it is one of those topics that yields passionate and diverse responses. Sweet potato casserole (and specifically, Adam’s Mimi’s sweet potato casserole) holds my top spot. It’s the perfect combination of side dish + dessert. And it’s topped with a generous sprinkling of coconut, and coconut always […]

thanksgiving leftover station (with free printable leftover labels)

thanksgiving leftover station

Thanksgiving- the grand Holiday-of-Food-and-Family- is pretty much one of the best days of the year. Family and friends paired with pie, turkey, sweet potato casserole and more pie is kind of an unbeatable combo. Unless, that is, you figure out a way to extend the goodness of Thanksgiving past Thursday evening. Yes, I am suggesting a […]
