I’ve been working on putting my craft room/sewing room together since the first of the year (with a February break to go visit Jord and crew)…

…and I finished it up just in time to share as part of the 2 little hooligans “Sewing Spaces” series. I’m loving the chance to peek into some of my favorite bloggers work spaces- be sure to check it out!
Back to the sewing room- I pretty much love this space, y’all. Even though my personal style definitely tends towards girly (I love pink! And all things shiny!), I don’t often have a chance to go girly in my decor choices.
But for this room, I wanted to create a space that I could work in for hours (and hours!) and still love my surroundings. So there are plenty of girly touches, plus some aqua and navy accents (blue is my favorite color), and things I love everywhere I look.
A few of my favorite things in here? Well, my inspiration boards (which change all.the.time), my vintage wooden spool collection (split between the top of the closet door and a mason jar, and my favorite-ever calendar (free here).
Also, one of my hopes in putting a two-sided work table in this space is that this room would become a place where the kids could pull up a fur topped stool and create alongside me… and, friends, it is working! The Kid’s Craft Cart (aka IKEA rolling cart) is filled with crayons, markers, colored pencils, paint, and every different kind of paper imaginable. Yesterday Burke was even making hand drawn ‘invitations’ for his birthday party while I worked. I love having this space to work side by side with the Smooches!
And, there are a hundred other things I love- the gold dipped table legs (thanks hubby!), my grandpa’s chair turned desk chair, some Scriptures that God is impressing on my heart right now in chalk and print, the wrapping paper covered books, the plethora of polka dots and stripes… I could go on.
I know I already shared some of the DIY tutorials (the polka dot cork letters, the glitter covered art hangers, the fur topped IKEA stools, the fabric covered bulletin board), and I still have a couple to share. Did I mention that I am loving this space?
I’d love to know- if you could fill a space with things you love, what would make the cut?
