how to make pumpkin juice (harry potter inspired)

harry_potter_pumpkin_juice_recipe

harry_potter_pumpkin_juice_recipeThere’s a day coming when I put together the Harry Potter Party post, y’all, and share all the pictures of all the festive HP goodness. That day is coming- I promise!

harry_potter_pumpkin_juice_recipeBut also, I realized that the Pumpkin Juice we served at said Harry Potter party is perfect for fall. (Or the spring weather we’ve suddenly found ourselves in in New Zealand! Or anytime!).

harry_potter_pumpkin_juice_recipeI generally categorize pumpkin flavored things as ‘cozy,’ but this pumpkin juice is surprisingly refreshing as well (the party guests guzzled it after dashing around for a photo scavenger hunt).

harry_potter_pumpkin_juice_recipeWe’ll be making it for a Halloween party here in New Zealand, but it’s yummy and easy enough to make anytime you need a kick of Harry Potter in your life (so- always).

INGREDIENTS

64 oz wassail (we used Trader Joe’s wassail- I bet you could use apple cider and it’d work too)

1 (15 oz) can pumpkin puree

2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

2 tsp vanilla

DIRECTIONS

Blend well (I used a blender) and serve chilled.

harry_potter_pumpkin_juice_recipeENJOY!

halloween treats- mochi ‘pumpkins’

halloween treat idea- mochi 'pumpkins'

After our grand success making mochi ‘apples’ last spring, we thought it was high time we try to make Halloween treats out of our favorite Saipan treat (even though we aren’t in Saipan- haha!). Wouldn’t these sweet little pumpkins be the perfect Halloween party food? Though, they are almost too cute to eat. We followed the same […]

pumpkin cake with apple cider glaze

pumpkin cake with apple cider glaze

Kirst’s post yesterday about faking fall was so spot on. In case you’re new here (or have just forgotten), Kirst lives on a tropical island and I (Jord) live in the Middle East, so fall isn’t much of a “thing” either of us get to partake in. We totally compensate for the lack of changing […]

faking fall in the tropics

faking fall in the tropics- making fall food while it's 90 degrees out

Pinterest is pretty much killing me right now, y’all. Fall is not even my favorite season (summer all the way!), but seeing the world of boots, sweaters, crunchy leaves and pumpkin-everything from afar without the chance to experience any of it has been harder than I anticipated. So we are following Jordan’s lead and faking […]

pumpkin pie ‘harvest popcorn’

harvest popcorn with yummy fall flavors!

Even though the weather here is still in the high 90’s, we try to make things feel as “fallish” as possible. We start burning fall candles, we decorate with fall leaves and pumpkins, we watch football, and we make this popcorn. A friend shared it with me a couple years ago and we make it […]

seventy fabulous sweet pumpkin recipes

sweet pumpkin recipes

Y’all, making pumpkin dip last week for the Apple Sampler released the fall-happy, pumpkin-fanatic in me. Since that batch of pumpkin dip, I’ve opened three cans of pumpkins to make six different pumpkin recipes- pumpkin smoothies, chocolate pumpkin mousse, frozen pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, and, of course, more pumpkin dip. I can’t seem to get […]

pumpkin dip recipe

pumpkin pie dip recipe

After I shared our Apple Sampler, several of you requested the Pumpkin Dip recipe. I had a little teeny bit left over, but I decided to take one for the team and whip up another batch. My family also decided to take one for the team and eat another batch (and wanted me to pass […]

how to make a pumpkin vase

how to make a pumpkin vase

The beginning of November is a little bit like December 26th- a bit of a letdown (with the added bonus of a sugar crash added in for kicks… oh that’s just us? Right. Carry on.). But if you have a porch full of perfectly good pumpkins, we have some ideas for you! In fact, a […]
