the most refreshing dessert table- a gelato bar!

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato bar

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato barBurke is not a huge dessert guy, but he LOVES gelato! So when he asked for a pizza party for his birthday this year, gelato was the natural pairing (and also, his dessert request- lucky coincidence!).

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato barTurns out, setting up a gelato bar was way (WAY!) easy. Like you-could-put-this-together-with-almost-no-notice-to-offset-the-crazy-heat-of-August easy.

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato barWe grabbed a whole lineup of Talenti gelato flavors (not a sponsor, we just love their gelato!)…

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato bar…set out some toppings (which are more fun than necessary since gelato seems to hold its own even without a bunch of toppings)…

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato bar…added fun ice cream bowls from the dollar bin at target (and wooden spoons from my stash)…

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato bar…hung up a big “gelato” poster and a paper ‘awning’ in my favorite apothecary cabinet…

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato bar…added a few honeycomb lanterns…

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato bar…set out gelato menu placemats outlining all the flavors….

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato bar…and our yummy (easy!) Gelato Bar was complete!

the summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato barthe summer's most refreshing treat table- a gelato barSince my weather lineup for this week includes a bunch of 100+ degree weather (whoa, August!), a lower-key version of this Gelato Bar is on the docket before school starts back up again for sure!

a rainbow of party candy

rainbow of party candy

As part of my little brother’s 30th birthday party, we put together a little rainbow of party candy (along with the Nacho Bar). It was so very easy, just candy cups filled with all different colors of candy, arranged in rows. But it’s so pretty- such impact for so little work equals something I must […]

bow shaped treats

how to make bow shaped rice krispy treats

I’m still working on the final post of Evie’s Bow-tique Birthday Party… In the meantime, I thought I’d share these super cute, extra yummy bow shaped rice krispy treats. To put them together, we took rice krispy treat squares (Jord used Smitten Kitchen’s brown butter rice krispy treat recipe), cut them in half on the […]

yummy orange drop cookie recipe

orange drop cookies (a not-chocolate cookie exchange option!)

These orange drop cookies were the highlight of the treat table at the Foxy Mama Baby Shower… So I did what any normal person would do and begged my co-hostess, Angie, if I could have her recipe to share on here. It’d be unfair not to. Orange Drop Cookies 2/3 c. shortening 3/4 c. sugar […]
