Take an already simple project and make it even simpler- this DIY leather tote with uses a belt as the buckle. Sew one up in less than 30 minutes.

Take an already simple project and make it even simpler- this DIY leather tote with uses a belt as the buckle. Sew one up in less than 30 minutes.Unlined leather totes are already on the easy end of the sewing spectrum. Add a belt as the handle and this project becomes the easiest sew ever.

Take an already simple project and make it even simpler- this DIY leather tote with uses a belt as the buckle. Sew one up in less than 30 minutes.

I can’t really think of someone who doesn’t need one of these leather totes as a present. Seriously. No one.

Take an already simple project and make it even simpler- this DIY leather tote with uses a belt as the buckle. Sew one up in less than 30 minutes. To make one, cut-

2 leather rectangles 15.5″ x 11.5″

2 leather rectangles 15.5″ x 5.5″

1 leather rectangle 11.5″ x 5.5″

2 leather rectangles 3″ x 2.5″

Take an already simple project and make it even simpler- this DIY leather tote with uses a belt as the buckle. Sew one up in less than 30 minutes.

Cut a belt in half. Sew the belt halves onto the center top edge of the side panels. Sew rectangles of leather to cover the belt on each panel. Placing the wrong sides together, sew each side panel to a main panel, making a bottomless box. Leave 1/2″ empty at the bottom of each line of stitching. With the tote inside out, match up the bottom piece with each side of the bottomless box (right sides facing each other). When the corners are matched up, sew around the perimeter of the bottom of the tote.

DIY leather “XO” throw pillow

DIY leather throw pillow

I might’ve mentioned once or twice (ahem…) that I am always on the lookout for home décor ideas that are both easy to make and pretty once you’ve made them- bonus points if the supplies for said easy-and-pretty-project are easy to procure. And even though this project is so easy that no tutorial is required- […]

how to make metallic gift card holders

metallic gift card holders

After last year’s printable gift card holders (and felt gift card holders), y’all already know that I am a huge fan of giving gift cards (controversial, I know). And I stand by that sentiment- I love giving gift cards as Christmas gifts. Also, since we live halfway across the world from most of our family […]

make a simple leather tote

how to make a simple leather tote

It’s funny the power that the seasonal rhythms hold over my creative mind- I am living in the land of endless summer (well, currently the land of crazy rain and typhoon warnings, but you get my drift). And yet, my mind swirls with cozy, texture-y ideas like big pom pom lined throws and pumpkin-y treats […]

the perfect star garland

Piper Jane wanted a sparkle party this year for her fourth birthday (well, actually, she wanted another sprinkle party… and then decided that a sparkle-party-with-lots-sprinkles would work instead). It’s such a fitting theme- that girl just exudes sparkles. So while I edit five hundred pictures, I thought I’d share the leather star garland how to. […]

the golden satchel- a leather tote and a giveaway

DIY leather satchel

Once upon a time, long, long ago, I made Jord an ‘everything bag.’ It was made to be a diaper bag and camera bag in one. As the years have progressed, that little (ok, giant) tote wandered its way through two babies and a move across the ocean. Its most recent function is a laptop […]
