the prettiest DIY christmas stockings

The prettiest Christmas stockings (easy & DIY)!

The thing about moving around the entire world is that you start Christmas from scratch (at least when you move like we do- ha!). But there is a silver lining to this- NEW CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS.

The prettiest Christmas stockings (easy & DIY)!

Y’all, I love stockings. Like lo-ove them. I made sweater ones long ago (but didn’t ever make one for Bohden)… and then I made minimalist leather-accent ones in Saipan… and I was itching to do another set. So thank you New Zealand.

The prettiest Christmas stockings (easy & DIY)!

They are super self explanatory- to make them, I got some extra neutral stockings and hot glued rows of trim to the top, then I made a few pom poms for each stocking, and added a yarn tassel for each stocking, then I embroidered little name hoops for each of us…

The prettiest Christmas stockings (easy & DIY)!

…and done!

The prettiest Christmas stockings (easy & DIY)!

Aren’t they so gorgeous?!? STOCKINGS 4EVA (or at least, a steady stream of new stockings every few years- haha!)!

the oasis dress- a tutorial

anthropologie inspired dress tutorial

Hey friends! As we wrap up Sewing for ME!, I thought I’d share the Oasis Dress tutorial over here as well (it was on Kelly’s blog a couple weeks ago). I made this dress for Jordan, but looking through the pictures makes me want to whip one up for myself as well… When we saw […]

the ballerina dress (an anthropologie knock off)

anthropologie inspired ballerina dress

This last two weeks has been a whirlwind. Mostly an Everything Bag Sewing whirlwind, but with some next-year-possibilities thrown in the mix. Oh and we were away for the weekend (a church retreat in Estes Park!). Anyhow, the Ballerina Dress tutorial was backburner-ed for a bit there. Good news- now it’s done! To make one […]

DIY anthropologie knock off flutter curtains

anthropologie inspired flutter curtains

This isn’t a surprise to you, but my “Repurposed” entry for So You Think You Can Sew Week 2 is the flutter curtains (they’re a knock off of Anthropologie’s Tender Falls Shower Curtain). I’ll be honest, every time I do an Anthropologie knock off, I feel like I should start my tutorial with a Big […]

anthropologie knock-off flutter curtains (SYTYCS week 2)

“Make new curtains for the living room,” has been on my to do list for months. Anthropologie’s Tender Falls Shower Curtain has been on my pinterest for about that long. Plus, I compulsively buy white sheets at Ikea. And this week’s theme for SYTYCS is “Repurposed.” Match made in heaven? I think yes. But back […]

anthropologie knock off vintage lace bracelet

DIY anthropologie knock off bracelet

The prettiness from Monday and yesterday continues today with a little anthro-inspired bracelet tutorial. In a word, lovely. The lace-and-pearls embroidered on vintage lace is just loveliness. The idea came from Anthropologie (shocker, right?). For Jord’s birthday, I was wanting to give her a present that was lightweight (read- easily packed), and just pretty. The […]

anthropologie inspired knotted bedding part 2 (putting it all together)

how to make anthropologie inspired knotted bedding

Before we get started piecing a PILE of knotted squares together, do you want the backstory on this little Anthro-inspired gem? First, you should know that I’m a bedding junkie. I LOVE wandering through Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Crate and Barrel, Anthropologie (at Park Meadows  in Denver, those stores are all conveniently located near each […]
