pastel hot chocolate board

Since Piper’s birthday is in August (and we’ve spent her life in Colorado, Saipan, and Texas), we’ve never once had hot chocolate on her birthday before.

But that girl LOVES hot cocoa, and whipped cream and marshmallows are two of her favorite things.

So our southern hemisphere home gave us the perfect opportunity this year to do a hot chocolate board for her Paris birthday.

Marshmallows are definitely not as much of a thing in New Zealand (especially variety in marshmallows), but we collected several pastel hues, grabbed some pumpkin mallows at the American store in Auckland (they were a HUGE HIT with the party guests), and even randomly found some mini-rainbow mallows.

Since it was a Paris party, of course we added macarons and meringues to the board. But wouldn’t it just be the BEST pastel hot cocoa board for Christmas or New Year’s?

free printable gift wrap

free printable christmas gift wrap

It’s no secret that I love using color engineer prints for all sorts of not-blueprint purposes. My favorites are as super fun gift wrap and as party posters. Since our Christmas décor is heavy on the pink this year (hot pink- where have you been all my life?), I put together some gift wrap to […]

edible christmas gift idea- pesto pasta dinner kits

edible Christmas gift idea- pesto pasta dinner kit

Who would’ve guessed that our surprise once-every-ten-years snowstorm would stir up such a flurry of surprise posts? But these cutest little edible Christmas gifts are another one! Adam tromped out in the snow to save all our massive bushes of basil, turning my kitchen into a veritable pesto factory the day after the snow. And […]

how to make the best decorated sugar cookies (decorating tips from a pro!)

how to make the BEST decorated sugar cookies (tips from a pro!)

After you’ve created the perfect sugar cookies (see this post!) and added the ‘base’ icing, it’s time to DECORATE! Because I know first hand that making sugar cookies look beautiful and festive is harder than it looks, I’ve recruited Jordan, the sugar cookie master, to share all her pro sugar cookie decorating tips. Jord’s Sugar […]

gift wrap ideas- the prettiest packages

the prettiest gift wrap ideas- nine gorgeous present toppers

So I’ve always loved pink Christmas trees and white Christmas trees with sweet pink decorations, but am fully committed to a “family tree” (aka- a place to pile on all of our eclectic, homemade, and souvenir ornaments). However, last year Adam got me a rose gold tree when artificial trees went on sale. Pair that […]

simple christmas decor

how to make an evergreen wreath

I know that most of you are way more on top of things than I am, and that you’re probably already all Christmas-prepped. But between what must’ve been a serious Christmas-goods-Goodwill-run before we moved to Saipan and the craziness of moving this fall, our Christmas decoration game this year is extra weak (and by weak, I […]

a thrill of hope

merry christmas from kojodesigns!

As we get ready to take a little break until the new year, I thought I’d pop in and say Merry Christmas from our families to yours! I don’t quite know why the miracle of GOD coming down, as a baby, has leveled me this year like it has (or more accurately, why it hasn’t […]

our tropical Christmas- a tour and link up

saipan christmas tour

Y’all, I am so excited to share a little glimpse of our tropical Christmas today (and I can’t wait to see your Christmases as well!). Especially since this year’s Christmas looks a little different than our holidays in years past. In fact, if I had to describe our December so far in three words, they’d […]

ornament advent countdown

An advent countdown, but with a twist- each ornament has a name of God written on it (there are accompanying devotions using the Jesus Storybook Bible for the names they chose)

December has snuck up on me this year. I finished up our advent ornament countdown this afternoon in fact. This is one of our favorite traditions, though, and we’re so excited to have a set of names of Christ advent ornaments here in Saipan. To make a new set, we cut a piece of drift wood into rounds, […]
