I love sewing Halloween costumes! But sometimes you just moved across the ocean and you sold your sewing machine in Saipan and you closed on your house on Halloween morning (like us, last year!) and all you need for Halloween costumes is EASY and NO SEW.
These Starwars costumes are both.
NO SEW LUKE SKYWALKER COSTUME
Gather a large white sweatshirt or long sleeved shirt, neutral leggings a size too big, neutral rubber boots, a thrifted belt and a light saber. With a few snips of the shirt/sweatshirt (cut off the arm cuffs to size, the waistband if there is one, and up the middle to make a ‘tunic’- I followed these instructions to make it more tunic-esque) and a light saber tucked into the belt, your costume is FINISHED.
NO SEW PRINCESS LEIA COSTUME
Gather a basic white dress/tunic (the one we used was a basic angel costume), a wide silver belt (we found a woven belt at a thrift store and spray painted it silver), black booties, sock buns, and a toy blaster gun.
BABY YODA COSTUME
Gather a Yoda hat (or pin green felt ears onto a hat), green pants, and a long sleeved medium sized kids shirt (I used white but use brown if you can find it). Use a onesie to gauge where to trim the sleeves down to size. Cut off the hem. Cut the shirt up the middle of the front. Using the cut off hem as a belt, cinch the middle. Pair with the Yoda hat and pants for pretty much the cutest (easiest!) baby costume ever!
And, y’all, I wish I would’ve taken a million pictures of Bohden as Baby Yoda. Cutest ever doesn’t even begin to describe it.
