easy birthday party decor idea- make this poster for $3!
Burke had a birthday last week! And even though seeing “8” on his cake makes my stomach hurt, I have to admit, I really love this age.

He is settling into himself and we see bigger pieces of Someday Burke all the time. He is an avid reader and tells me something I didn’t already know daily. He is constantly making up clever jokes and plays on words. I love hearing his thoughts on the books we’re reading. He’d do anything for Piper and he will be the best big brother to Baby Girl. And he still loves to cuddle. I love how this age, eight, is wedged right in between little kid and big kid worlds.

In fact, when I was a teacher, I loved teaching second and third grade best because of all of the overlap between little and big!

easy birthday party decor idea- make this poster for $3!Burke traded in his birthday party this year for a combined Mother’s Day/Burke Birthday weekend in Seoul (proud mama moment right there!), so we’d already celebrated his birthday a bit early with Krispy Kreme, Lotte World, and octopus the Noryangjin Fish Market. Now we’re having the chance to do some low key celebrating of our special eight year old!
