the miss matilda dress, the cottage mama pattern tourAfter a season of seriously neglecting my sewing machine, it has been running non-stop lately! I can’t wait to share some of what I’ve been making, and today’s Miss Matilda dress for the Cottage Mama Pattern Tour is quite the kick off.

miss matilda dress for the cottage mama pattern tourI have mentioned before that I adore Lindsay (the Cottage Mama) and her patterns and this one is no exception. Isn’t this dress fabulous?

miss matilda dressThere are tons of customization options (dress or tunic length, ruffles or no ruffles, buttons or snaps) and you can get the pattern in both PDF format (instant gratification!) or paper (no taping!). Both are available at The Cottage Mama shop.

In fact, the color blocking on the bottom is my own addition, not part of the pattern itself, because Pi was so adamant about using the purple fabric (which I didn’t have enough of, of course).

miss matilda dress- the cottage mama pattern tourLast time I made a dress for her, she was less than thrilled (because it wasn’t pink). The I-love-it-I-love-it-I-love-it response is so. much. more. fun! And, apparently, even the classic styling and sweet details can’t contain the sass.
