hyatti: figuring out normal

Well, I just talked to Kirst and they are off gallivanting across Greece and having a great time. It was h.a.r.d. to say goodbye, but we are thankful for the time we got to spend together.

Drew and I are super (I mean really really really) thankful for all the people who are taking us up on our offers to come visit. We just figured out that we have lived here about 30 weeks and have had guests on about 19 of them. Thats lots of changing sheets, folks. We have more friends (actually, friends of friends) coming tomorrow and staying for a couple weeks and then we have a little break for the hot hot hot part of the summer (The 120 degree weather now is just hot hot). We are realizing that life here (and life running a tourism business) is always going to be crazy. . . but we haven’t really figured out what “normal life” looks like yet. With all the chaos we kind of just take everyday as is comes. To be honest, it is pretty exhausting! We decided that this summer is the summer of figuring out what normal is in the midst of crazy. Sounds easy enough, right?  I’ll let you know how it goes.

I’ll leave you with this picture of me and Kirst because:

A) A post isn’t a post without pictures.
B) We aren’t great at remembering to take pictures of ourselves, In fact, the picture on our “About Us” page is from over 5 years ago when Kirst came to visit after Keadryn was born.

Also- a quick shout out to this guy:

He is the most wonderful dad I could imagine for my kids. Happy Father’s Day, everyone!

Was just wondering because you wrote my life and that’s what we say in arabic. I think I said the same thing twice lol my kids are calling I’d better go lol

    1. Hey Debora! Yep hyatti is My Life (or Jord’s life in this case). Since they live in the middleeast (and my sister speaks arabic), the Sunday pictures are her ‘hyatti.’ Thanks for reading- love that! 🙂
