cupcakes and ballerinas

I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that I’m still working on the Ballerina Dress tutorial (soon, I promise!). While you wait, I wanted to give you the link to the non-fray chiffon that you’ll need for the skirt (you might have a local place to buy non-fray chiffon- I haven’t found any in Denver). I bought 4 yards of black and 2 yards of pale pink and had some of each leftover. I think the dress would look good in almost any colorway, so go crazy- just get 4 yards of your main color and 2 yards of your accent color.

The good news is that I tried a new (and fabulous) cupcake recipe and wanted to pass it along to you!  You probably know by now that I’m a total sucker for new cupcake recipes- so when I saw this Easy Gourmet Cupcake recipe at Hello My Name is Heather, of course, I just had to try it out.

If you’re looking for a cupcake recipe that’s less maintenance than the Magnolia Bakery recipe, but more ‘homemade’ than a cake mix, this is the one for you.

To top these yummies off, I had a small dictator helper matching each cupcake with its Ideal Sprinkle Variety- haha! The end result was quite the mish-mash. Oh, and Burke LOVES cherry berries (the big red ‘sprinkles’) and is certain that cupcakes are incomplete without them. Sprinkle mish-mash aside, these were fabulous. I’ll definitely use this recipe again!
