roasted chickpeas

I have a fond affection for chickpeas.  Very fond affection.  Roasting them into semi-crunchy little chickpea delights only makes this affection stronger.  Seriously… try this, y’all.

Roasted Chickpea Directions:
Rinse and drain chickpeas (I used 2 cans).  Spread onto Pam-coated cookie sheet.  Spray tops of chickpeas with olive oil or cooking spray.  Sprinkle with coarse salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, and red pepper flakes.  Bake for about an hour at 350 degrees.  Stir occasionally to make sure they’re roasting evenly and not burning.

Yum.  Yum, yum, yum.

  1. I'm so excited about this post. I LOVE chickpeas. Usually people think it's odd that I just eat plain chickpeas or roasted chickpeas. However, I've never tried a recipe like this for roasting. It looks a bit spicy. Perhaps I'll even win my husband over to the chickpea fan club with this. 😉

  2. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! I am so excited about this! We had spicy roasted chickpeas as an appetizer at a restaurant a couple of weeks ago and they were AMAZING. We said over and over how much we wanted to learn how to make them and I forgot until now. Thanks tons for posting this- I can't wait to make these!
