a year of crafting from the stash!

The much anticipated (by the two of us) list of 27 things to accomplish in 2010!  Our theme this year seems to be repurposing and using what we already have (our books, our craft supplies, our Goodwill bound piles)…

Make a project each from Seams to Me and Weekend Sewing.
Take better pictures… start just by taking more pictures.  Oh, and start utilizing natural light for tutorial pictures.

Try a new technique (or two, or ten!) from The Sewing Bible.
Learn 10 new tricks in photoshop.
Take a class at Fancy Tiger (yep, round 2 for this one).
Add some canine goodness to our repertoire for Kiji’s sake!
Figure out an a la carte menu for our wedding invites.

Try out 12 new tutorials (one per month!).  Perhaps I should start with the toteable towel by anna marie horner?  I have all sorts of beach bugs as family members/close friends, at least one of whom is headed on a tropical getaway this spring.
Write 50 new tutorials (almost one per week!).
Use some of that beautiful fabric that is stashed away on my fabric shelf.
Have another craft night… or two!

Make something reusing a men’s button up shirt (idea and pic from ruffles and stuff).
Make something reusing a polo shirt,
Make something reusing a tshirt.

Make something reusing a sweater (idea and pic from design*sponge).
Make something reusing bed linens.
Make something reusing table linens.

Make a dent in that pile of felted wool (idea and pic from oh so crafty).
Get kojobaby up and running.
Give Juju shoes their own etsy shop.
Host “Onesie Week.”
Use a Mr. Linky.
Blog swap.

Letterpress.  Lots of letterpress.  I know I said this last year, but I really mean it this year. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Sew something to wear that’s not baby-sized.  Maybe a dress for myself?
Make some photo baby announcements in photoshop.
Add individual occasion cards to the etsy shop.

What is one thing that you’d like to do in 2010?  Do you have a list?  A theme? Aspirations that rolled over from last year?  Do share!

  1. I don't have a list for crafty stuff YET, but now I want one. ๐Ÿ˜‰ This is awesome!!!

Just an fyi, but I really like "MckLinky." Very easy to use (both on your end and the participants'). I believe it's what Kimba uses for DIY Day. I have trouble with my links uploading to that Mr. Linky thing. Maybe it's just me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Great post!

  2. I like this list a lot! My fabric stash is getting out of control..I spend more time oraganizing it than using it. This felting stuff is a lot of fun. Thanks again for the ideas. The stitches links you added were very helpful. Have a great day! Erin

  3. letterpress sounds lovely! Good luck on writing all those tutes, that'll be fun to read! I can't wait to see what you come up with for making with a polo shirt – I have tons of my husbands just waiting for me to try and make something out of!

  4. What a great list! I can't wait to see what you come up with for tutorials and the different things you make and do this year.

I started my list but it's only halfway done. Thinking too far ahead hurts my brain but now I want to add some things to it, like a KAM snappress and sewing something for me ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. OMG! You are so ambitious!! A tutorial each week, pure craziness…
ok, maybe we're all a little bit jealous of all those ambitious plans.
All the best in 2010, sounds like it should be fun.

  6. I would love to see some photoshop tutorials from you. I just got it for Christmas and am learning that the learning curve is steep.
