ode to target

I may have mentioned my capacity to wander around target for hours and hours- perusing the home section, wandering through the holiday goodies, finding all sorts of lovely things that I probably don’t need but think I do. I just love that place.

Today, for example, Burke and I spent an hour and a half meandering up and down Target’s aisles. And actually, I found so many fabulous and inspirational lovelies that I thought I’d share my findings with y’all.
1- This red cake stand is part of the 2009 Christmas line. I love it. It is on my list of things-to-buy at 6:00 am on December 26th.

2- After we made the ruffle purse for Trish, Jordi planted in my head the idea of a ruffle clutch. And I can’t stop thinking about it. So now I am on the lookout for a clearanced clutch just waiting to be embellished with ruffle-y goodness. Today I saw a purple one that’d be super fun (and match my almost-everyday purple shoes!).

3- I saw some fabulous cableknit pillows on clearance in the “switching-all-the-time” decor section (you know, by the frames?). I love cableknit. It makes me want to sew a pillow cover using a felted sweater… actually, I think that the sale was good enough that it’d make more sense just to buy Target’s version. But I do have felted wool on my “Supplies To Use Up” list. You know, so I can buy more of them to restock my stash.

4- I know, I’m a big dork, but I love learning little random facts about people (like what their favorite family tradition was growing up, or where they’d go if they were given a trip to anywhere in the world). There’s a Christmas Conversation Tin at Target (and I am certain that you could create your own) that’d be the perfect catalyst for such random fact gathering over the holidays. Fun, right?

  2. Ah! God bless Target!!!! Target is my favorite place in the world. I could spend hours there, too! Every day I mourn the fact that we moved to a town that is over an hour away from the nearest Target. Talk about heart break!
