Did you know that during college, I worked as a shampoo girl at a salon on main street in Grove City (the little college town where I went to school)? Not only did that little stint introduce me to all sorts of expensive hair products that I am still trying to quit (I hate when more expensive things really are better), I also learned the glory of The Sugar Scrub. I love this little beauty gem even more because it is so easy to make- and it makes such a great DIY gift that I always make a double batch.
The recipe for homemade sugar scrub success is really very basic- sugar plus citrus for exfoliating, and carrier oil and essential oil for moisturizing. One of my favorite sugar scrub combinations is grapefruit and rosemary. Since Burke’s teacher’s birthday is coming up, we whipped up a batch for her this afternoon as part of her birthday present (and made enough for mama-daughter pedi’s as well, of course).
