rainbow fruit lemonade

Summer's best sips- rainbow fruit layered lemonade (so fun, and yet SO easy!)I will be honest- this rainbow fruit layered lemonade mostly came to be because dragon fruit is back in season here in Saipan. And we keep seeing pink ones (at the grocery store, they sell some dragon fruit already halved, so there is no ‘which center color am I getting’ dilemma)! And, seriously, what is more fun than lemonade with awesome neon pink dragon fruit in it?

Summer's best sips- rainbow fruit layered lemonade (so fun, and yet SO easy!)Well, lemonade with a whole rainbow of fruit layers. Haha!

Summer's best sips- rainbow fruit layered lemonade (so fun, and yet SO easy!)Turns out, these rainbow layered lemonades are not just fun to look at (and easy to put together), the kids LOVED them. We refilled the lemonade a couple times, and then they ate all of the fruit, even the lemons. Maybe lemonade soaked lemons are not as tart?

Summer's best sips- rainbow fruit layered lemonade (so fun, and yet SO easy!)To make these “rainbow lemonades” (that the kids keep calling Crazy Town Lemonades- ha!), we cut wedges of plums, kiwis, lemons, oranges and dragon fruit. Then we layered the fruit, starting with blueberries at the bottom and working to dragon fruit at the top, and poured lemonade over the layers.

Summer's best sips- rainbow fruit layered lemonade (so fun, and yet SO easy!)Perfection! If I were attending a Fourth of July picnic this weekend (instead of pouting because everything here has been cancelled because of Typhoon Chan Hom barreling our way), I’d bring these. For sure. Maybe you can redeem my dire Independence Day situation by celebrating extra for us???

peach bellinis

peach bellinis

Hi friends! I’m so excited to be sharing this recipe with you today for two reasons. First, it’s a dang delicious recipe. Second, it means I’m at my best friend’s house! She knows I love these and so she makes them when I come to town. I look forward to sipping on them while we […]

homemade chai tea recipe

homemade chai tea recipe

We have had a gloriously rainy and cloudy couple days here in Arabia, and I have been making a lot of tea. As I was sipping our go-to favorite chai, I decided that I should share it with y’all…only to realize Kirst shared the chai tea recipe YEARS ago! This chai is the best. It […]

christmas wassail- our family’s recipe

Christmas wassail- a family recipe

If I had to pick a smell that is Christmas to me, I think wassail would be at the top of my list. It may be even higher than the smell of evergreen? Just maybe, though- haha. We’ve shared our wassail recipe before, but as I was making up a batch, I thought I’d highlight […]

caramel apple cider recipe

caramel apple cider recipe

This first far-far-away-from-home holiday season has been, well, a little hard to describe, actually. It’s been homesick, and quiet, and far, and tropical (which is both amazing for this summer-loving mama and also more than a bit weird since we’re used to a Rocky Mountain fall), and a little more homesick. In fact, usually Thanksgiving […]

citrus iced white tea

citrus iced white tea

Hi friends! I’m not gonna lie, as I look at pinterest, and friend’s facebook pages,  I am getting pretty jealous. It seems like fall is pretty near and things like pumpkin spiced lattes, football, and chilly weather are very close. This is the hardest season for me to live in a hot place because I […]

homemade mint limeade

homemade mint limeade at kojo-designs

We have a TON of mint growing at our house currently and our friends have a lime tree and often send us home with more limes than we know what to do with. So, we drink limeade. Homemade Mint Limeade Ingredients: 6-8 limes (medium size) 2 large handfuls of mint 1/4-1/2 cup sugar (depending on […]

the best blueberry mojito recipe (and how to make a whole pitcher-ful)

how to make a pitcher of blueberry mojitos

I love mojitos. Love them. I think mint and lime were made to go together (incidentally, I love the mint limeade at Cafe Rio as well!). And I lo-ove adding fruit, like blueberries, to this yummiest of drink concoctions. To make one blueberry mojito- 1 lime, juiced 10 mint leaves 1/4 cup blueberries 1 tablespoon […]

a sip of summer- the best beach drink

how to make diet coke/malibu slushies

If you follow kojo on instagram, you already know this, but Adam and I snuck away this week for a little getaway full of sun, and surf, and seafood. The kids are with Nana (with every FaceTime conversation, I am more convinced that they might not want to come home), and Adam and I have […]
