baked honey sesame chicken wings

baked honey sesame wings

baked honey sesame chicken wings
Do any of you have a private family group on Facebook? Not only are these groups great for keeping in touch with family that is spread out across the globe, or for sharing funny stories and pictures, they are the perfect place for March Madness Trash Talk.

Guys, I seriously love our annual tradition of filling out March Madness brackets, accompanied by a *friendly* guys vs. girls competition (the losers are supposed to do something nice for the winners at our next family gathering… but somehow when the guys loose they always “forget” when we are together- likely story). 😉 In any case, this year I have the yummiest wing recipe to accompany our basketball watching! I like these ones because they are baked, so you can make a large batch AND your house doesn’t smell like fried food. Win win.

Baked Honey Sesame Wings
Ingredients
2 pounds chicken wings
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup honey
1 inch fresh ginger, grated
1 clove garlic
1 tsp sesame oil
2 tsp sriracha sauce (optional for spice)
3 tbs rice wine vinegar
2 TBS sesame seeds, lightly toasted

Directions:
Crush the garlic and grate the ginger. Mix together the garlic, ginger, soy, honey, oil and sriracha in a bowl. Pour about half of the sauce into another (larger) bowl and add the vinegar. Add the wings to the bowl with the vinegar and toss to coat. Set to marinade in the refrigerator, 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. If you have a broiler pan, this is the perfect use for it. If not, you can use a baking sheet with a cooling rack on top. Arrange the wings on the pan and brush some of the reserved sauce onto the wings. Bake for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, turn the wings over and brush with more glaze. Bake for another 20 minutes. Finally, turn on the broiler, brush a third time with glaze and broil another 5-10 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve warm.

chicken parmesan casserole

chicken parmesan casserole

Chicken Parmesan is one of my favorite favorite dishes to make for a dinner party. It is actually pretty simple, but feels so fancy and everyone loves it. Making it as a casserole, instead of individually baking each piece of chicken under the broiler, makes it a lot easier to make for a crowd. If […]

stacked green chile chicken enchiladas

One summer while I was in college, I lived in Mexico and worked at an orphanage. Every time I make these enchiladas this conversation from my time at the orphanage comes to mind: mexican friend: Jord, will you please make that American chicken dish again? The kids really liked it. me: What American food? I […]

I cannot believe it is already June! Kirst and I were talking the other day and she said “Weren’t you going to do a salad series in June?” and I said “Yes! Still planning on it…” and then it dawned on me that June was just a day away! We have been back in the […]
