Hope y’all had a fantastic weekend! We’re so excited to be back with a week of Color My Summer amazing for y’all. And here today, kicking off the week of goodness, is one of our very. favorite. girls- Rubyellen from Cakies.

Where do we start with the things we love about this girl?

Her incredible vintage style…

…her absolutely darling daughters…

…her a.maz.ing. party ideas

…and her pretty pretty pictures!

A few of our favorite ‘projects’ from the Cakies blog-
1-yarn ornaments, 2-Club Bratcher, 3- The Once Upon a Thread stripes dress, 4-flower garland, , 5-Rockin’ Mommy Day

But the best thing about Rubyellen’s blog is the way it inspires us to love our families well, to integrate traditions and lots of laughter into our daily family life, to kiss our husbands, and to have family dance parties!

And today, we’re thrilled that Rubyellen is our Red guest for Color My Summer!

Hello! I am Rubyellen from Cakies and I am excited to share with you my little project for the Color My Summer Series.

I have 3 little girls and there are two colors that dominate everything they love… red & pink. Today, let’s focus on the red. My little girls also have two things they love to draw the most 1) their family 2) hearts. What little girl doesn’t love doodling hearts all day long?!! Thus, I combined their love for hearts and red and came up with the “hidden in my heart” pillow.
Between little trinkets they collect, little drawings they make, or their favorite polaroids, they needed a little something to keep their special little treasures together. This little pillow is perfect for holding those little treasures, which sometimes revolve daily, and is also perfect for hugging their treasures when they go to sleep. Maybe if your kids are able to read, this is also the perfect spot to sneak them a little love note or treat.

The pillow may be one of the easiest things to make, but if you head over to my blog, I will be glad to give you a sort of step-by-step. Happy crafting folks!!!
Thank you so much Kirstin and Jordan for allowing me to have a little heart-to-heart with your readers! I can’t wait to see the other projects that will be coming up next!!!
