Can I tell you something? I think baby projects are my favorite kind. I remember having a never ending To Make list after Piper was born- not the burdensome kind of to do list, the I-can’t-wait-to-sew kind of list.
This last couple months have felt like that again. Baby girl is accumulating quite the stash of goodies- including these extra cute (and SO easy!) burp rags.
They’re totally not rocket science, but they’re such a cute and easy project. And they make a great baby shower gift if you aren’t adding to your family sometime soon.
And you can make a whole pile in no time (which is helpful. Because, babies).
Just gather a package of cloth diapers. Cut quilting cloth rectangles to match the cloth diapers.
Layer together, right sides facing each other. Stitch around the entire perimeter, minus a 5″ gap in the middle of one of the shorter edges. Clip the corners and turn right side in. Press the opening to tuck the raw edge in and top stitch around the entire burp cloth.
Add two lines of stitching, each a third of the way in (this makes folding into a neat little stack a cinch). Press one final time and you’re finished!
Repeat until you have a cute little stack of burp cloths at the ready. See why I love baby projects so much???
