nutella banana bread muffins

Guys, get ready for an amazing little trick to take your banana bread to a whole new level. I saw something like this on pinterest and thought I’d give it a try. I don’t think I will ever make normal banana bread again.

Here’s what you do:

Make your regular batter for banana bread. I use the tried and true betty crocker recipe.

Once you have your batter, separated into muffin tins (you could probably line with cupcake liners, I just spray with Pam and they come out fine).

Here’s where the magic happens:

Add a dollop of nutella to each muffin (I add a rounded teaspoon).

Using a skewer (or a toothpick) swirl the nutella into the batter:

A tip: It should be a pretty even swirl, if the nutella isn’t mixed in, it melts and falls off as the muffins rise, leaving a smelly, burning mess in the bottom of your oven (yes, I know this from experience).

Because the banana bread is separated, it doesn’t take as long to bake, 25-35 minutes is all they need. The result? These amazing, oh so tasty, nutella banana bread muffins:

Seriously, give it a try, you’ll love it!

Do you know any other easy, life changing (or otherwise delicious) tricks like this one? Do tell!

  2. Oh happiness!! Not one but two jars of Nutella are in my cupboard at this instant, a new tradition from dad to try to ease the little man into the new place, Nutella on toast for breakfast. But now I know what will be the new perfect breakfast food. I mean, it’s healthy, what with all of the bananas and everything… ๐Ÿ™‚
