…I am working on today?

Angry bird goodness (Piper has been walking around saying, “Angee Tweet Tweet” all morning- ha!)…

…and graduation announcements and party invites!

I love birthdays and birthday parties (though, I’m not sure how I feel about my baby boy turning 4- that just seems so big).

And I can’t adequately describe how excited I am for graduation. The funny thing is, I didn’t even attend my own grad school graduation (we were already on a graduation trip). But this graduation, and the amount of life that it represents, is monumental.

I know many of YOU and your husbands have done (or are currently doing) grad school/med school/residencies/dental school- were you/are you so excited for graduation?

What are you working on today?

  2. It’s not just husbands who graduate from med school and residency…

I’m an MD and I love your blog… I’m currently working on the GEMS dress pattern from one of yours or someone else’s sponsors.

  3. I was absolutely tickled when my husband graduated with his Master’s degree but he did not want a celebration (same thing happened when he graduated with his B.S.) He was just happy to be done with school as he had been balancing college, work, and a family. Now my “baby” boy is about to graduate high school and wants to keep the celebrating at a minimum (or not at all!) But that is definitely NOT going to happen!! I love your invites!!

Congratulations, Adam!! and Kirsten as I know how much it affects the whole family!!

    1. I think Adam would’ve been great with something more subdues as well- but no way! There are too many days and hours of work to not have a party at the end. πŸ™‚
Congrats to your son- how exciting!!!

  4. Brian will finish his masters in engineering this summer and we will be sooo glad when its over! (although we won’t be taking an amazing trip like y’all… so jealous!) But you have something to REALLY celebrate… so happy and proud for your family and Dr. Gentry!

    1. YAY! That’s so fun- it’s wild how much more work it is when you add littles ones into the mix, right???
Congrats to Brian (and thanks!). πŸ™‚

  5. i’m graduating with my Ph.D. in a few weeks after 7 yrs of working full time and having 2 kids while in grad school. I’m so excited and happy. I think I can totally relate to how you feel.

    1. Amanda- CONGRATULATIONS! One of our best friends finished up his PhD last fall and OHMYGOODNESS was it a ton of work. And I’m sure we only saw part of it.
Are you planning a serious party???? πŸ™‚

  6. Oooh an angry bird party…sweet!
we are both done with our studies but given the amount of effort it takes…you have all the reasons to be excited. I was just reading Ashley’s ( Make It and Love It) thoughts on the subject and it seems like husband’s graduation is an achievement for the whole family. Congratulations to you all.

    1. Haha- I’ll have to head over to Ashley’s and see what she said. She and I have commiserated before on the husband-student chaos. πŸ™‚ I bet they’re so excited too!

    1. I LOVE those ruffled streamers- SO FUN! And your hubbie’s graduation absolutely requires a big celebration!!! πŸ™‚

  7. i may, or may not, be still obsessively planning the berry birthday brunch (thank you again for sharing!).

seriously, your invites? and printables in general? to die for! someday, you must do a post on them. what kind of cardstock do you print on?

    1. Dayna, you make me laugh! Can’t wait to see the berries!
And I love the post suggestion- definitely. Until then, I love Neenah’s cardstock (they carry it at our local Xpedex, but I think you can get it online too!). I also really love Crane’s cotton paper, but it is kind of finicky in the printer (though, worth it). πŸ™‚
You are always such a sweet voice of encouragement- THANK YOU! πŸ™‚

  8. congrats to you AND your husband. being a full time mama and daddy when your husband is studying is a reason to celebrate!
Both my husband I are working on our masters degrees right now. we have one toddler right now and another on the way. somehow, it all gets done (although I can’t remember how exactly….)
enjoy your celebrations and your trip!

    1. Erin, you’re right, it DOES get it all done somehow, right??? My grad school was without kids (SO MUCH EASIER- haha!).
When are you guys done???? And thanks!

  9. I graduated from Pharmacy School several years ago……before kids (thank goodness!). But, it was so many years of hard work & studying….I couldn’t believe I was finally finished reading books & taking tests! Best feeling ever πŸ™‚ I was all about a great party to celebrate! Congrats to your hubby & (and you too)….you all have earned it!

    1. Leigh Anne, that’s a serious accomplishment! I LOVE that- are you still a pharmacist?
