colorado blogger meet up

This may sound silly, but I am so thankful for blogging! Since the start of kojo coincided with Adam starting dental school, having this space to share creativity (and life) with you has filled in some of the gaps that the Crazy Dental School Schedule left in its wake. And then, the offshoot of getting to meet some of you in ‘real life’ has been so great.

The Denver Blogger Meet Up was this weekend- I loved it! I’m so glad my new BFF Ashley made this thing happen! For those of you who weren’t there, I asked the lovely Katie from KB Digital Designs (our photog of the day!) if she’d send over some of her pictures. I can’t believe she made all of these lovely pictures happen with the hotel-ballroom-lighting. If you have a minute, head on over and check out KB Digital Designs (and like her page on FB!).

Back to the meetup details- there was all sorts of yumminess- appetizers, candy cups scattered about, and tons of cupcakes! The Colorado Cupcake Bar (all of our cupcake flavors were named after various Colorado towns/mountains/etc.) was a huge hit. Huge hit as in we didn’t have a single cupcake left. Wow! Alison from Oopsey Daisy and I had a blast putting this together! More details to come (and even a how-to-make-cream-filled-cupcakes tutorial).

And there were fabulous craft stations (Pick Your Plum sent Ashley a giant box of giveaway and To-Make items).

There were also some seriously great giveaways (Courtney and Angela rounded up quite the bounty). I think half of the 100+ people who came went home with some sort of giveaway. Nice, right?

The best part of the whole day, of course, was the chance to make new friends, see familiar faces, and meet some of you! Of course, I didn’t have the chance to chat with nearly as many people as I would’ve liked, which just means that we’ll have to do this again soon.

I do have a favor to ask of you. If you went to the meet up (or even if you couldn’t make it to this one!), would you leave a comment or send me an email with your name, your blog name, and your email? I’d love to assemble a list of CO creative types so that we can keep in touch! I had no idea there were so many local creative bloggers (and sewists/photogs/etc.). THANK YOU for doing that!

  1. Hey Kirstin, I’m definitely interested in any meet-ups you guys have in the future! I had so much fun. And I have to admit, it’s much more fun reading your blogs now that I picture the personality behind it. Thanks so much for arranging the meet-up on Saturday!

    1. It’s so fun to put a name with a face, isn’t it? Love that.
Also, my hubby was asking what kind of specialties there are for pharmacy? Does your husband have to match for that? Will y’all have to move? I definitely didn’t get enough details- hahaha! ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. I am SO amazed at all our local talent! I’ve been living in Colorado for decades and sewing on and off all this time and had NO idea of the wealth of talent! I would definitely be interested in a meet-up when one is planned. I like the Saturday idea, since I work downtown, and I like that you met on my side of town!

Just discovered your blog today, and I’m so glad I did!

    1. Sarah, so fun to meet y’all too! And I noticed that you have the Bueno theme on your blog too- so fun (though, Jord is trying to convince me to change to DreamWeaver so I have a wider text box for bigger pictures- haha). ๐Ÿ™‚ We’ll have to do it again soon!

  3. That was SO fun! Thanks for all the hard work you girls put in for us!
I’d love to do it again. Or maybe a Colorado Springs meetup sometime? ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. If Ashley’s husband takes the job in Pueblo, I think they’ll be in Colo Spgs! And Adam’s mom lives there too (don’t know if I mentioned that) so we’re down there pretty frequently.
Maybe we can plan a smaller get together next time so I actually have a chance to talk to you! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. You guys did a great job with the meet up-everything looked beautiful. Can’t wait for more meet-up opportunities. I just started blogging this month so this is all very new to me ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Shannon, I am SO GLAD you commented! I kept meaning to ask you about your dress (I saw it on your blog- YAY!) and then the whole thing was over and I never grabbed you.
Anyhow, gorgeous dress aside, I love your blog! Y’all have a great thing going- I have that same Dwell fabric (the tan version) and can’t wait to make some baby gifts with it. ๐Ÿ™‚
Again, so sad I missed you. Next time we’ll get to chat! ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Thanks Kirstin. I am sorry we didn’t get a chance to chat. It is funny seeing you in person after reading your blog for so long- you feel like you know someone but know they have NO idea who you are ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for your kind comments on the blog- I am still trying to figure it all out and use all the blogs I love as inspiration. I am loving it so far and was so glad to be able to attend the meet up. Hopefully we will get a chance to meet again- ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. You’re doing a great job on your blog- can’t believe y’all just started.
And on the note of meeting up again, several of the girls from the meetup and I are going to the Fancy Tiger Open Craft night on April 3rd. If you’re free that night, you should join us!!! We could finally chat! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Thank you for all your help putting the meet-up together. I will link up to this post when I put my post about it together.
