so you think you can sew week 3 (and some funny out takes)

If you’d said to me, “You made it to Apparel Week of So You Think You Can Sew- who are you going to sew for?” a month ago, I would have said “Piper Jane,” without skipping a beat. And if you would’ve further said, “Maybe make a dress for yourself?” I probably would’ve laughed. Especially if you would’ve added the title “Ballerina Dress” into the mix.

This Little Smooch is definitely my favorite subject to sew for.

However, between my love for Anthropologie’s Dulcie Dress, my desire to branch out this year and try new things, and the impeccable timing of both Grace and Todd’s wedding and So You Think You Can Sew’s Apparel Week, here we are.

And I already mentioned that I love the dress. Love it.

pretty sure I’m laughing at the Smooches here

I also love (or more laugh at) some of the outtakes from my little Ballerina Dress photoshoots. And I thought y’all might laugh too. Have I mentioned that I hate taking pictures like this? I am so much more comfortable being the one taking the pictures. Plus, I can’t figure out where to put my hands.

And sometimes foliage gets the best of me.

Also, my only good pose is to look to the side (ok, so good is a bit of a stretch, but it looks less silly than when I look at the camera). I think I’ve asked for tips before, but here’s the call for help again.

Told you they’re funny, right?

ps- The tutorial for this gem is in progress- thanks for all of the encouragement to make one.

I can’t imagine that you take 47 bad pictures though. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks Cindy! And coming up with the design was a lot of trial and error! Luckily, I’ve done the hard part (all of the figuring) so you don’t have to if you want to make one. ๐Ÿ™‚ The tutorial should be up this week or next week. ๐Ÿ™‚
